Terms of purchase

1. What you're buying

Cairn is a Shopify theme delivered as a digital download: a ZIP file you upload to your own Shopify store, plus a set of merchant guides. You are buying a license to use the theme, not ownership of the theme's code. Cairn Themes retains all rights to the theme itself.

2. License tiers

Single-Store ($249): use on one production Shopify store at a time. Unpublished test and staging copies for that same store are fine.

Multi-Store 3-Pack ($549): use on up to three production Shopify stores owned or operated by the same person or company.

Agency Unlimited ($899): use on client stores without a store-count limit, provided the stores are built by the purchasing agency. Any person or company building stores for clients qualifies as an agency; there is no verification step or headcount threshold. The license belongs to the agency and may not be resold, sublicensed, or transferred as a product of its own.

Client offboarding: a store built under an active Agency license keeps its right to run Cairn for the life of that store, including after your engagement with that client ends. The client may keep using and modifying the theme on that store; they may not move it to other stores (that needs their own license).

License continuity: the same per-store rights survive the buyer too. If the purchasing agency or operator later winds down, changes name, or stops building, every store already licensed keeps its right to run Cairn for the life of that store.

Agency scope details: stores built by contractors or freelancers working under the agency's engagement count as built by the agency. Stores the agency itself owns and operates are covered too; the Agency tier is genuinely unlimited across client and own stores alike.

In every tier: you may modify the theme for the licensed store(s). You may not redistribute, resell, share, or publish the theme files or modified versions of them, and you may not use them on stores outside your tier's scope. Upgrading tiers costs the difference in price: contact support with your receipt.

3. Delivery and updates

Delivery is instant: after checkout you land on a download page tied to your purchase. Keep that link. It remains active and always serves the newest released version of Cairn, which is how updates are delivered. Lifetime updates means the life of the Cairn 1.x product line for the store count you licensed; the 1.x line has no planned end date, and a future major version, if one ever ships, would not cut off 1.x updates.

If a Shopify platform change breaks a current Cairn version, the compatibility fix goes to the top of the update queue, ahead of feature work.

Vendor continuity: the theme is delivered as complete files installed on your store, so licensed stores keep running Cairn even if the vendor ever ceases operating. Only new updates and support would end; nothing already delivered is revoked or remotely disabled.

4. Refunds

If Cairn will not install or run on a supported, current Shopify store and support cannot resolve it, you receive a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Because theme files are delivered in full at download, refunds are not otherwise offered, including for change of mind. This is the standard policy for direct-download Shopify themes.

The 14-day window applies to the purchase, not to each store. Defects in the theme itself remain support issues for the life of your license, whichever store they surface on and whenever they surface: report them through the support page.

5. Honest-capability disclosure

Cairn's bundle and quantity-break sections display savings; the enforced checkout discount is configured in Shopify or a discount app, and the theme's safeguard keeps unconfirmed savings claims off your storefront. Subscription selling requires a subscriptions app for billing; Cairn supplies the storefront UI. Combined-line-item bundles require Shopify Bundles or a Functions-based app. These boundaries are stated on the product page and in the included guides.

6. Support

Support is provided by email through the support page, covering installation, theme settings, and defects in the theme itself. It does not cover custom development, third-party apps, or general store strategy. Target response time is one business day for every ticket; Agency-license tickets are answered first, with a same-business-day target.

7. Warranty and liability

The theme is provided as-is. We warrant it installs and operates on a current, supported Shopify plan as described; beyond the refund remedy above, liability is limited to the amount you paid. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify. Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc. Competitor names on the product page belong to their owners and are used only for factual comparison.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated for future purchases; the terms in effect on your purchase date govern your license. Material license changes never apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
